Essential Oils For Men
Although there are no specific essential oils for men, you can use a variety of oils to make personal care products. Let's look at some masculine essential oil blends.

Rosemary-Mint Natural Shaving Cream
For a brisk, uplifting scent.
- 1/3 cup shea butter
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons olive or jojoba or sweet almond oil
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
- 10 drops rosemary essential oil
- Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler on low heat.
- Remove mixture from heat and pour into a heat-safe bowl.
- Stir in the other oils.
- Put the bowl in the fridge and leave until the mixture is solid.
- Whip the mixture with a hand beater or electric mixer until fluffy.
- Spoon the shaving cream into a glass jar. Cover with a lid and store in a dry, cool location. Use as desired.
Alternative: Replace the rosemary and peppermint with this blend:
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil
- 3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
- 10 drops lavender essential oil

Aftershave Essential Oil Blends for Men
To use these aftershaves: Shake well. Apply directly to skin, avoiding eyes, nose, mouth, and other sensitive areas. Gently pat in.
Splash-On Aftershave
- 1/2 cup aloe vera juice
- 1/2 cup witch hazel
- 1/2 teaspoon vegetable glycerin
- 25 drops myrrh essential oil
- 10 drops carrot seed essential oil
Combine all ingredients in a glass bottle. Cap the bottle and shake well to blend. Store away from light.
To use: Shake well. Apply generously after shaving.

Aftershave Spray - 8 ounces
- 3/4 cup witch hazel
- 1-1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 12 drops sandalwood essential oil
- 5 drops geranium essential oil
- 3 drops Roman chamomile essential oil
- 3 drops frankincense essential oil
- 8-ounce glass spray bottle
Place all ingredients in the spray bottle. Close and then shake to combine.
To use: Shake. Spritz a little aftershave onto your face and pat gently.

Aftershave Spray - 3 ounces
- 2 tablespoons witch hazel
- 2 tablespoons carrier oil, such as jojoba or sweet almond
- 1 tablespoon distilled water
- 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerin
- 10 drops essential oils of choice
- 3-ounce spray bottle
Place all liquid ingredients in a 3-ounce spray bottle and shake to mix.

Essential Oil Beard Oil Recipe
- 2 teaspoons argan or grapeseed oil
- 2 teaspoons jojoba oil
- 1-1/2 teaspoon hemp seed oil
- 3 drops vitamin E oil
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 8 drops rosemary essential oil
- 5 drops patchouli essential oil
- 1-ounce dark-color dropper bottle
Blend all the oils in a small glass bowl. Pour into the dropper bottle (using a small funnel makes pouring easier). Cap bottle and shake gently. Use within one year. Two to three drops is typically enough.

Jock Itch Relief
Dilute 2 drops of one of the following essential oils in 1 teaspoon carrier oil:
- Lavender
- Fragonia
- Tea tree
- Manuka
- Patchouli
Wash and dry the problem area. Gently rub in a little of the rub blend. Repeat morning and night. Be sure to wash your hands after you touch the area to avoid spreading the fungus.

Essential Oils for Men's Cologne
Cologne can be as simple as combining a drop of essential oil with couple of drops of carrier oil and dabbing the blend on the desired area. Some scents men tend to like include:
- Bergamot
- Cedarwood
- Cypress
- Ginger
- Patchouli
- Sandalwood
- Spruce
- Vanilla
- Vetiver
- Citrus oils (orange, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit)
To make a simple cologne, combine the following ingredients in a one-ounce glass dropper bottle:
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil (or other carrier oil of choice)
- 5 to 10 drops essential oil(s) of choice
- 20 drops vitamin E oil
Shower Gels
Buy a natural, fragrance-free shower gel base. Add 15 to 25 drops of one of the following blends to five ounces of base gel, depending on how strong you want the fragrance. Shake well.
Blend #1
- 5 drops pine essential oil
- 3 drops clary sage essential oil
- 2 drops grapefruit essential oil
- 1 drop lemongrass essential oil
- 1 drop sandalwood essential oil
Blend #2
- 6 drops lemon verbena essential oil
- 4 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 4 drops sandalwood essential oil
- 2 drops cedarwood essential oil
