Halloween Essential Oil Blends for Diffusing and More

You can help create the ambience of the season by diffusing Halloween essential oil blends. The scents can add a spicy, fall-like scent to your home or support the fun of parties, costumes, and trick-or-treating.

The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy suggests the following essential oils for Halloween:

• Lemon verbena
• Mandarin

• Patchouli

• Sandalwood
• Spikenard
• Vetiver

Other popular essential oils for the season include cinnamon, clove, ginger, and nutmeg (the scents of pumpkin spice!).

Halloween Essential Oil Blends for Diffusing

Using Halloween essential oils in an aromatherapy diffuser is probably the best way to create the desired ambience.

Note: Avoid diffusing blends containing cinnamon, cassia, or clove around babies.

Spicy Diffuser Blend

• 3 drops cardamom essential oil
• 2 drops clove essential oil
• 2 drops cassia or cinnamon essential oil
• 1 drop ginger essential oil

• 2 drops lemon essential oil
• 2 drops orange essential oil
• 2 drops wintergreen essential oil

Stock Halloween Blend

• 20 drops sweet orange essential oil
• 12 drops cinnamon bark essential oil
• 10 drops cedarwood essential oil
• 8 drops cypress essential oil

Blend the oils in a 5-ml dark-color glass dropper bottle. Use according to your diffuser's instructions.

Pumpkin Spice Essential Oil Recipe

Make this stock diffuser blend to diffuse throughout the Halloween season.

• 20 drops ginger essential oil
• 20 drops cinnamon bark essential oil
• 15 drops clove bud essential oil
• 15 drops nutmeg essential oil
• 10 drops sweet orange essential oil
• 5 drops cardamom essential oil

1. Add all essential oils into an empty 5-ml amber glass bottle.
2. Tighten cap and gently shake the bottle.
3. Use 5 to 6 drops in your aromatherapy diffuser.

Room Sprays

Monster-Be-Gone Room Spray

Does your child think monsters are in the room? Have fun dispelling the monsters with this room spray.

• 7 drops lavender essential oil
• 6 drops juniper essential oil
• 4 drops orange essential oil
• 3 drops cedarwood essential oil
• 1 teaspoon Epsom salt
• 2-ounce glass spray bottle
• Distilled water

Combine essential oils and Epsom salt in the bottle. Top off with water. Cap and shake well. Spray where the monsters live.

Clear Negative Energy Room Spray

Try this blend if you need to clear negative energy (unwanted ghosts👻 or other people's left-behind crap💩).

• 6 drops tangerine essential oil
• 4 drops frankincense essential oil
• 4 drops sandalwood essential oil
• 4 drops rosemary essential oil
• 2 drops elemi essential oil
• 4 ounces distilled water

Drop essential oils into a 4-ounce glass spray bottle. Add enough distilled water to fill the bottle. Cap and shake. Shake well before each use.
