Fingerroot essential oil (Boesenbergia pandurata), which has limited availability, is also known as Chinese ginger, Thai ginger, or lesser ginger.

Plant family: Zingiberaceae. Other essential oils in this family include ginger, cardamom, turmeric, plai, and white ginger lily absolute.

Production: Steam distilled from the bright yellow rhizomes of the fingerroot plant, which is a traditional medicine in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, and China.

Aroma: Warm, sweet, and camphoraceous with floral and possibly slightly citrus notes.
